Caregiving for Infant, Toddler & Children – Level 3 (RPL) The Caregiving for Infant, Toddler & Children – Level 3 (Recognition of Prior Learning - RPL) program is designed to assess and recognize the knowledge, skills, and competencies of experienced caregivers who have gained practical experience through work rather than formal training. The assessment evaluates a candidate's ability to provide safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate care for infants, toddlers, and young children. The program covers essential competencies such as maintaining children's health, hygiene, nutrition, and safety; supporting physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development; planning age-appropriate activities; communicating effectively with children and parents; responding to emergencies; and following professional ethics and child protection practices. Successful candidates who demonstrate the required competencies are awarded a Level 3 qualification through the RPL process, recognizing their existing skills and enhancing their employment and career opportunities in childcare and caregiving.
